Our Story
LilyBug aka Bug is a 5 year old rescue pittie living in NYC with her mom, Marisa. Bug was rescued by Mr. Bones & Co. in September 2013. MBC is a 501(c)3 animal welfare nonprofit organization based in NYC, which Marisa served as the Co-Executive Director for from February 2013 - June 2018.
LilyBug was abandoned during a storm in a playground in New Britain CT in Sept 2013 at only 3-4 months old. Someone called the local ACO and she was picked up and brought to the pound. LilyBug is the 2nd dog MBC ever took into their #OneLuckyPup program and was fostered by Marisa, who ultimately adopted the Bug!
LilyBug quickly became known by her neighbors and fellow dog lovers as the Hugging Pit Bull because she greeted everyone with a full body hug (and kisses), and she continues to do so while giving hugs, spreading love and positive breed awareness through #AHugFromBug.
Some of her most well-known and well loved Instagram antics include #AHugFromBug, #MorningsWithLilyBug, #PibblesWhoNibble and #HallwayDerping!
