I haven't always been a photographer and it took me a long time to have the courage to pursue it.
I was born and raised in Lakewood, Ohio while also spending some time in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I earned my degree in business from Loyola University of Chicago and spent about ten years working a desk job at various private companies, finishing off at a non-profit. You could often find me firing or laying off employees, putting out office fires, and rummaging through large amounts of paperwork. Spending much of my time in a windowless office five days a week, my mental and physical health began to suffer. I needed a change.
I left my corporate job in early 2014. Shortly thereafter, I was a full-time photographer running my own business. Two short years later, I began working on a book and was signed by a national publisher. Peanut Butter Dogs came out in 2017 and my second book is in the works with a release date of Fall, 2019.
I'm happy to say that after 10 years, we ended BSL in Lakewood, Ohio on April 2nd, 2018! The city no longer discriminates against dogs based on looks.
