About Us

Abandoned Dogs of Rhode Island

abandoneddogsofri@gmail.com

Our mission is to provide a safe haven for pets in need from local animal shelters and local residents. We also serve to educate the public about the importance of animal welfare, training, adopting, and spaying and neutering.

Being an animal advocate for many years, ADRI founder Alyssa always did what she could to help. When she wasn't working at veterinary clinics and boarding facilities, Alyssa spent her free time helping to rehabilitate and adopt out dogs at various rescues.

A friend reached out in desperation about their dog named Reese who they could no longer keep. They could not find a rescue that would take her. Alyssa took her in, got her fully vetted, and paid for food and supplies out of her own pocket. Alyssa found her a great home. Reese now lives out her days in New Hampshire where she has plenty of land to run on and a family who adores her. It was only a matter of time before Alyssa became known as the go-to girl for pets in need. ADRI became an official non-profit 501(c)3 and hasn't looked back!
