WHAT IS TAURINE DEFICIENCY?
Taurine is an amino acid that are building blocks for protein all throughout the body but particularly in the muscles of the heart. Larger dogs produce taurine at a slow rate and cats cannot produce taurine in their body making it an extremely important nutrient that needs to be in or added to their diet. Without taurine, they are at higher risk of heart disease and retinal degeneration.
